I can’t help but think the new moon boots look dumb. By that, I mean the suede boots that have the same look as moon boots from the 1980s. For some odd reason women wear these boots with shorts and when it’s not cold, let alone there being any snow or rain. I really don’t get it.
And this is when I realized fashion has passed by me. I like the clothes of my college years (1998 to 2001). It’s not that I choose to stay stuck in that time period. It is because the clothes are practical, comfortable, and can be had for a good price. And I happen to think they look half way decent for most occasions.
About six months ago a group of drunk college students made fun of the leather jacket I was wearing during an overnight in Missoula. It was funny though because I really didn’t care. I have not really ever been concerned with the ‘in thing’. And now more than ever I pity those that obsess about the cloth that covers our body’s.
I can see myself many years down the road sticking with the plain soft t-shirts from Kohls, cargo pants from old Navy, and my hiking sandals. And I will continue to confound my wife, stretching the clothes out as long as I can. Even when my underwear is barely existing.
